KAJIMA in Taiwan
Since 1899

Kajima has a long-established investment in Taiwan. Ever since the branch office in Taiwan is founded in 1899, infrastructure involving the public’s welfare such as railways, power plants and bridges are initiated in turn, and its local corporation Chung-Lu Construction Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as " Chung-Lu ")

was established in 1983. With more than a century’ history, construction projects of Chung-Lu can be seen around Taiwan, besides serving domestic customers, Chung-Lu also takes part in plenty of commercial buildings, residences and plants for transnational corporations funded by Japanese or foreign business. In order to become the leading enterprise supported by domestic companies, Chung-Lu utilizes flexibly the skills and integration capability inherited from and shared by Kajima Corporation for the market in Taiwan.

Completion of Taiwan Western Trunk line (Total length 400 km)

1909~1912

Groundbreaking of Alishan Forest Railway and final completion in 1912. Total length is 52 km and it is the only railway with long-distance and steep-slope in the world.

1912~1914

the longest bridge in Japan at the time with a total length of 1525 m.

1914~1926

Completion of Taitung Line railway.

1931~1934

Completion of Wujie Dam in Sun Moon Lake-the biggest hydro power plant at the time which supplies the electricity consumption of Taiwan.

1942~1945
